Plants & Projects Nature Club
Plants & Projects Nature Club
For: Lockeland Springs students in 1st through 5th grades
About: This club introduces students to locally growing seasonal plants and their ecology through stories, games, and projects. Each week features a botanically inspired project related to the plant. This semester’s projects will include things like making black walnut stamps, weaving goldenrod crowns, pressed plant art, creating acorn beads, and more. Students will take projects home. Our goal is to help children appreciate and enjoy nature and learn while having fun!
When: Fall 2025 Club Session is 9 weeks
Nature Club runs on Wednesdays until 4pm
September 3, 10, 17, 24, October 1, 8, (no class October 15 due to Fall Break,) 22, 29, November 5
More Information (Please read all of the below before registering): This is an OUTDOOR club with the exception of inclement weather, in which case we will meet indoors. Once we meet club participants at the bell and bring them outside, we will not be going back inside the school building. Please let your child know this in advance in order to set appropriate expectations.
Club participants will need weather and art appropriate clothing: hats for sunny days, jackets for cooler days, bug spray if they desire it, shoes appropriate for outside use, and clothing that can get dirty. Please be sure they have water bottles at school on club days. Children will have the opportunity to refill water bottles and use the restroom before the club goes outside. Children are welcome to eat a snack during club time.
Club ends at 4pm. Please be on time to pick your child up if that is their method of dismissal. Late pick-ups may incur late charges to compensate teachers who have to wait with your child.
In order to be able to participate in the club, you MUST fill out this waiver. You will only secure your spot on the roster after you have filled out the waiver and completed the registration form and payment on this page.
Registration ends on Tuesday August 26th at 12 noon.
This club needs a minimum of 10 participants, and maxes out at 20 participants.
Due to deadlines and requirements for roster submission to the school, we are unable to offer trial days, partial attendance, or refunds for Nature Club once you have paid. If you are uncertain whether this club is a good fit for your child, consider the following.

Respect Others- speaking kindly, only touching others after asking, staying within eyesight of teachers, listening when addressed, being helpful
Respect Self- listening to your body by eating when hungry and drinking when thirsty, taking breaks when you need them, saying no to others if they are doing something you don’t like, saying kind words about yourself, being safe in nature (following teacher’s directions)
