Plants and Potions Classes
During Plants and Potions classes, we guide children through learning to identify wild edible and medicinal plants growing on site, and how to turn them into food or medicine. We use games, songs, and stories to teach children about the importance of respecting nature and supporting a healthy ecosystem, and how plants are a part of that whole.
Each class or series will feature one or more “potions” that the group will make together and each child will bring home. Potions can be anything from a wild foraged jelly or syrup, to a wild multivitamin made with plants and vinegar, to wild teas, a healing plant salve, or even art like plant based tie dye or making plant based paint. The type of potion will depend on the season and the plants available at the class location as well as the age of the children.
If you have a location but we are unable to harvest plants safely there, I can bring plants to the site, so this is no problem.
Classes are geared for ages 5 and up. Typically a single class is 2 hours long, but class times can be adjusted based on the needs of the group. You can book a single class or a class series.
When inquiring about booking a class, please include the following information:
How many children will be participating in camp, and what are their ages?
Where is the class location? Please describe whether there is access to an indoor bathroom, and shelter in case of inclement weather.
If there is no indoor bathroom, the owner of the property must be okay with the practice of nature potty for the duration of the class.

Once I receive your inquiry, I can give you a price quote, and once you pay the deposit fee, your date will be locked in. All participants for the class must be PAID IN FULL for the class at least 2 weeks prior to the date of the first class.
